2024年4月15日舉行的波士頓馬拉松，早前接受全球報名。依照賽會規例，參加者需符合各自年齡組別的達標時間，方可獲得報名資格。日前賽會公佈，今屆共收到33,058申請，最後有22,019人獲準參加比賽，連同約8,000位透過慈善名額參賽的跑手，預計總參加人數達到30,000人。

賽會指，今屆選手的參賽時間是史上最快，大致來說參加者要比各自年齡組的參賽資格標準快5分29秒，才能獲得參賽資格。
